Make The Connection

In October last year I attended an exhibition of art work by Diana Ward entitled “time to make the connection” (i.e. between breast cancer and the environment). This was organised by From Pink to Prevention, which is run jointly by Helen Lynn (formally from the Women’s Environmental Network) and Deborah Burton (from Tipping Point) and was hosted by UNISON at their headquarters in London.

I was delighted to give a short talk on the work of CBCS and our links to Diana Ward. I met Diana many years ago when she, along with a few other activists, was researching and writing the wonderful document “Breast cancer: an environmental disease”. The event was well attended and I had the pleasure of speaking with Natalie Bennett, a former MP and now on the Board of the Green European Foundation.

Sadly, Diana died earlier this month and you can read some of the glowing tributes to her work on www.frompinktoprevention.org where there is also a link to her wonderful exhibition.
